As you are here, you desire to live your life by change and not by chance. This change can be as slight as listening to good music right after reading this blog or as immense as waking up early in the morning. We all struggle in life in some or the other way. We sometimes feel tedious or mess up something we started with great enthusiasm or procrastinate a task we always wanted to do that would bring peace to our soul.
Although we spend days/weeks/months worrying about these common yet anxiety-ridden issues, what becomes crucial is that we look out for solutions. Instead of generating negative thoughts over and over again, teach your brain to think positively. It is not something you can achieve in a day as it takes many years to master your mind. And you can always start with small yet profound tips to uplift your being.
I have come up with 5 life-savers that would help you elevate your mood/mind into a better one. I have tried each one of them, it helped me a lot, and I hope they do the same to you. So let’s get started without wasting any more time.
1. It is ok to not be able to follow your “ideal routine” everyday!
We all have a perfect high-yielding routine in our journal/mind that waits to be followed. But we are so apathetic about it, right? Probably because dear you have made a wrong time-table/to do list for yourself.
Here are a few tips that can make your dull routine into a happening one: lessen the number of activities you have added; praise yourself whenever you complete a task; Moreover, you can celebrate it by listening to a song or anything of your choice; Modify your routine according to your need or whenever you feel your routine is becoming monotonous; Read life-saver 2.
2.Include new activities in your day once in a while.
When we do something new our brain makes new connections (of neurons) and doing it repeatedly makes these connections even stronger. It is important because it increases the capacity of the brain. You can include any sort of new activity to convert your same boring routine into an interesting one.
It can be art & craft, cycling, dancing, cooking, playing games that you haven’t played since you were a kid, watching a movie or series, gaining knowledge about something compelling like the universe we live in or the human brain, etc. I guarantee you if you do it you will feel more confident, probably be happy for the rest of your day and might even end up doing it the very next day.
3.Pretend to be Happy!!
According to a new study, published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, dopamine- a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in our cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning — plays a direct role in the reward experience induced by music.
This means if you are sad and inactively lying in your bed/sofa and after reading this very blog you decide to take control of your life and your mood you can definitely make yourself happy. All you have to do is play your favourite music ( not a sad one! ), sing it aloud, get up and groove to it (or anything that you think would make you happy) and hurray!!! We are happy again.
4.Try Helping someone.
Do you remember an incident when you were upset about certain things but as soon as your friend walks in with his life problems; You, omitting every reason of sorrow in your own life, start behaving like Sandeep Maheshwari? Do you also remember how you felt after giving all the courage and advice your friend wanted, better right? What did you do in that moment? You helped your friend. When you help someone, you ought to keep your miseries aside. And helping a person in a day is always a great way of living.
I don’t know how much I should emphasize on the importance of reading books so that you all start reading one. We all desire to fulfill our materialistic fantasies, improve different areas of our life, and much more. You can learn authentic techniques, for becoming what you want to be or for having what you want to have, by world greatest personalities themselves. Trust me there is so much you can learn and discover about yourself and the world.
Stop telling yourself that you don’t like reading books. Every person has at least one genre of their interest. You name it and you will find a book satisfying your interest. If you are struggling from where to start here are names of few books that I found engrossing:
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie; The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl; Who Will Cry When You Die by Robin Sharma; Einstein: Visionary Scientist by John B. Severance; Three Thousand Stitches by Sudha Murthy.
I hope you find these life-savers beneficial. Do tell me about the book you started reading or about the activity you appended in your day in the comment section below.
